Many of us are caught in situations which may not match our interests, potential, and abilities. While striving to grow into our best selves, we can be unsure how to manage the challenges which come our way. Dr. Lerner will help you to become reacquainted with that which you most enjoy about yourself and build a life which allows you to express your potential. During the first session and throughout the therapy, you will discuss what you are looking for, any problems or issues you are experiencing, and what you need for your personal sense of happiness and success.
Dr. Lerner utilizes a combination of cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques in addition to medication management. She has specialized training in women's hormones as they affect emotional health, prescribing medications during pregnancy, the post-partum state, and menopause. She works with adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
Dr. Lerner is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco Medical School, and an attending
psychiatrist at the VA Medical Center where she teaches medical students and psychiatry residents.
Dr. Lerner is the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and a member of the Spine and Brain Institute at Marin General Hospital.
